Saint Sebastia and Barceloneta beaches are the largest and oldest of all seven. In 1992 Barcelona hosted the summer Olympics. Barcelona is well known for its competitive sports. If you love football you should visit Barcelona. The football team is the only one to have qualified for European competition every year since 1955. Other sports that are popular in Barcelona include baseball, rugby, volleyball, basketball, hockey, and more. Even women have their own football team in Barcelona as well. Barcelona is well known for its older historical buildings that can date back to medieval times. The popular architect, Antoni Gaudi, created several buildings around Barcelona. One building in particular is the Church of the Sagrada Familia, which is still unfinished today. He started construction in 1882. Manufacturing today includes textile, pharmaceutical, motor, electronic, chemical and printing. Barcelona is one of the more expensive places to live in Spain. The best time to visit Barcelona would be around August because this is the busiest time for Barcelona and that is when you will see what all Barcelona has to offer. Although some shops and restaurants choose to be closed during this time, several more will open to increase business.
