Mid-Late January The Art Deco Music Festival takes place on Miami Beach's Ocean Drive, at the heart of the Art Deco area of the city. There are three days of entertainment that hark back to the days when the Art Deco movement was in full swing. February February's Miami Film Festival is held in the Gusman Center for the Performing Arts and showcases International Cinema from all over the world. March March brings Carnival time and Miami pulls out all the stops to throw one of America's largest street parties. You can expect massive parades, parties, music, dancing and other revels as Miami's large Latino community celebrates its cultural heritage. The highlight is the Calle Ocho street party, with a large concert held in the heart of Little Havana. July On the fourth, Miami, like cities throughout America, celebrates Independence Day with parades, parties and the mother of all firework displays. A great place to celebrate the day. September The Afro-Cuban Festival is a nine-day celebration of Afro-Caribbean and specifically Cuban culture. Music dominates the scene and you'll find concerts and impromptu performances all round Little Havana. There is a full programme of entertainment however, and as well as the unique musical rhythms of the Caribbean you will find Cuban themed parties and events all over the city. October South Florida's International Auto Show brings car enthusiasts from all over the nation to the Convention Center in central Miami. The event is going from strength to strength and is often used by American and International manufacturers for unveiling new models. November Miami's book fair attracts industry and enthusiasts to talks and events hosted by publishers and authors
