It is known for it's skyscraper and was the location of the twin towers that was destroyed by terrorists on September 11, 2001. Rockefeller Center, one of the city's landmarks, contains 21 buildings and covers about 25 acres and is the world's largest entertainment facilities and private owned businesses. Some of the buildings within this center include Radio City Music Hall, and RCA. Fifth Avenue has many of New York Cities finest stores and line the streets both south and north of Rockefeller Center.

New York City buillt a lot of public housing projects and about 170,000 low income families are living in these cities owned public houses today.
