If you want to visit Orlando, Florida there might be some things you need to know. Orlando is one of the places that most people would go when there either on vacation or there going there for the winter because the temperature is too cold in the north where the temperature is warmer down there. Walt Disney World, one of the most famous parks in the world, was opened there. That’s also what helps Orlando stay famous and helps with the fast-growing population. Walt Disney World is 15 miles away from the city. Many of the people have either visited, moved, or have lived there because of its warm climate and all of its tourist attractions. Orlando’s temperature in January has an average temperature of 60 degrees (F), and in July the temperature was 83 degree (F). Another reason why Orlando is famous is because of its citrus fruits/oranges.

There was a tribe of Indians and they called themselves the Seminole Indians and they lived in what is now present-day Orlando, Florida. In 1837 is when the white settlers had first settled there. There was a settlement that was named Jernigan, it was named after Aaron Jernigan, and he was an Orange County trader. The reason why it got its name Orlando is by a soldier that had died because he was in a battle with the Indians and his name was Orlando Reeves. There was a Rail-road that was designed to reach the city of Orlando and this Rail-road was designed in 1881. They didn’t start growing oranges until1890’s. Then the real estate became available and made Orlando’s population grow rapidly. Since the opening of Walt Disney World this has lead to many of constructions of hotels and banks, and restaurants and other buildings. In 1973 there was a theatre that had cost $300,000 dollars.

Orlando’s weather is humid sometimes. In the north the temperature in the winter time would be 30’s to 40’s but it has dipped down to the 20’s on occasion. But in the winter Orlando averages around 60 or so and in the summer time it might be 80’s 90’s or even 100’s and in Orlando. In the winter time it might be the most popular time to visit Orlando because it would be cooler in the north but it would be warm in Orlando, Florida. When the weather is warm you automatically want to be there.
