Eating Out
Guide to Drinking & Dining in Miami
Eating out in Miami is all
part of the every day experience for locals as well as tourists.
There is a breathtaking range of restaurants, and you should be able
to find anything you fancy somewhere in the city. Places such as the
Calle Ocho, in the heart of the Cuban community are naturally
excellent for authentic cuisine from that part of the world, while
Spanish cuisine is also well represented.
Naturally there are loads of American style steakhouses, seafood
restaurants, pizza parlours and diners to choose from should you
wish, but here are a few more interesting examples from the canon of
culinary delights that the city has to offer.

Come to this funky, Spanish restaurant for a menu of tapas ideal for
sharing with a jug of refreshing sangria. While you dine, a range of
entertainers perform in the restaurant, from dancers and musicians
to palm readers.
Bars
You may be forgiven for thinking that all of Miami's bars are full
of the beautiful people, sipping bellinis and talking in falsettos.
It's true that there is a fair number of bars that are more style
than content but in truth you'll find there is something for
everyone in the bars of the city. With large populations of
immigrants, particularly Haitians and Cubans you'll find that there
are plenty of bars from both these nationalities.
Elsewhere there are American brew pubs, sports and theme bars and
the traditional beer dens, where locals drink without the benefit of
the hippest sounds or the latest in interior design. Check out the
nightlife in our Entertainment section to find some of the trendier
drinking spots, whereas if you want to simply enjoy a drink, try one
of these recommendations below.
Finnegan's Too
942 Lincoln Road
Tel: +1 (1)305-538-7997
With its masses of trendy bars and restaurants, Lincoln Road
reverses the norm, making the seemingly mundane sports bar into an
exception. Such is the case with Finnegan's Too. A normal sports bar
elsewhere, here it is refreshingly different.
Gordon Biersch Brewery
1201 Brickell Avenue
Tel: +1 (1)786-425-1130
This brew pub located on the exclusive Brickell Avenue is a great
place to sample freshly brewed beer, with a view of the downtown
Miami skyline. The bar is very large, with plenty of seating for
crowded Friday and Saturday nights.
Abbey Brewing Company
1115 16th St, Miami Beach
Tel: +1 (1)305-538-8110
A refuge from the beautiful people that fill most Miami Beach bars
the Abbey Brewing Company is for proper beer lovers. Don't greet
your friends with air kisses, and stick to the "brewskis" rather
than any fancy dan cocktails.
Raleigh
1775 Collins Avenue
Tel: +1 (1)305-534-6300
Upmarket, but not in a trendy sense, the Raleigh Hotel bar simply
exudes class and style. Cocktails are the order of the day, and its
best to have a chaser on hand for when you collect the tab, you'll
need something to stiffen your nerves.
Playwright Irish Pub
1265 Washington Avenue
Tel: +1 (1)305-534-0667
It kind of gives it away in its self-acknowledging name, so there's
no surprise that this is an Irish pub. All the plastic Irishness
you'd expect (or want) and the usual conviviality of the Emerald
Isle, packaged up and transported to Florida.
