Amstelzicht Hotel Description

Hotel Amstelzicht, a historic canal house built in 1659, sits on the famous Amstel Canal in the heart of the city centre. We are a privately-owned NON SMOKING 3-star hotel, with a friendly atmosphere and close to all the main tourist attractions. A famous landmark, Hotel Amstelzicht is one of the so-called, "three dancing houses". Since we took over the hotel in August 2004, we have redecorated most of the 14 rooms. Some of these rooms offer fantastic views over the canal. We have double, twin, triple, and family rooms.

The rooms are all decorated with a personal touch. While each room is different, all of them offer the comfort and facilities you expect from a 3-star hotel, such as private bathroom, minibar, direct dail telephone, safe deposit box and hairdryer. In addition to rooms with or without canal view. There is Wifi internet in the lobby.


Throughout the renovations that have taken place over the years, the historical features of the building have been preserved, such as the marble and ceiling ornaments in the main hallway, as well the steep stairway which is typical of an Amsterdam canal house from the 17th Century.

Located at Amstel 104, the hotel is at the beginning of the Amstel Canal, just 100 meters from the Munt Square and the Flower Market. The Rembrandt Square is just around the corner. The Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum and the Anne Frank House are all within walking distance. The hotel reception is open from 8 am until 10 pm. If you arrive before 8 am or after 10 pm, it's very important that you let us know your flight number and arrival time and we will be waiting to welcome you.

All of our rooms have a tasteful interior and are equipped with private bathroom (shower/toilet), satellite television, direct-dial telephone with wake-up service, hairdryer, mini-bar, coffee & tea facilities, work desk, safety box, and sitting area. The whole hotel is non smoking. All the Amstel view rooms have a splendid panoramic view over the Amstel River. The standard rooms can be reserved as a double or twin room. Standard rooms can be booked for single or double use. All triple rooms are larger than the standard rooms. Triple rooms can be booked with 3 single beds. All quad room are large with a comfortable interior and are equipped with 4 single beds and private facilities, bathroom (toilet, shower, sink, hairdryer), cable television, safety box, and coffee & tea facilities.
