Estela Barcelona Hotel Description

THe hotel Estela Barcelona is a mediterranean style building located in Stiges, in the Aiguadolc port area. It's close proximity with art can be seen since the moment you step into the lobby. Josep Maria Subirachs, a highly reputed artist who is working on the facade of the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, has converted this place into the scenario of the descent from the infinity of Earth. Flights of steps, waterfalls and spheres make up this peculiar vision of the coming together of two dimensions.

It all began in October '93, when painter Antonio Xaus decided to use the walls, the roof, the sheets and the twirls of the room 105 as another one of canvases. The objective of this artistic provocation was to manifest the artsit disconformities with the lack of passion and joy in contemporary art. The hotel's manager was so motivated with the project that there are now 9 artist rooms which grant you the opportunity of discovering the work of Quim Hereu & josep Maria Subirarchs.
