
Halki (Heybeli) Palace, one of the oldest and finest hotels in vicinity of the Princess Islands, is thought to have been built between 1852-1862. It has always been regarded as unique for it's period. Located on Refah Sehitleri Street (Ismet Inonu Street), the hotel is situated on the once called Meryemana Path. The Balkans, Trabzons, Kapadokia, Istanbul and other parts of the Empire. The hotel was built in order to serve the parents coming to visit their children attending the school. Since the hotel's foundation, Halki Palace has fallen under the care of different people. By 1937, Halki Palace was run by one caretaker who eventually hired the hotel out as single rooms. Consequently, the hotel being in bad shape, was in serious need of repair.
