
If you want to go to Montreal there might be some things you need to know first. Montreal is the largest city that is in Canada but it is also the majority French talking city, next to Paris. A lot of Montreal’s people have ancestor’s that were French. Montreal is Canada’s seaport and it is the chief transportation center. Montreal is one of the majority interesting places in North America. It is near an island that was built around a mountain. Montreal covers close to a third of the island. And it is where the St. Lawrence and the Ottawa rivers meet at, and that is in southern Quebec. At Mount Royal there are a lot of trees that cover that whole mountain that measure out to be 763 feet. Montreal has a lot of Canada’s office building and hotels and even more. Montreal is a beautiful place to visit, live, or even move there. Montreal also has a magnificent waterfront that is recognised as the Old Montreal. The stone buildings line along streets and monuments that are in historic squares. Montreal has a lot of interesting museums and university. Montreal’s weather has had an average temperature in January it has averaged about 15 degrees (F). In July it averages about 70 degrees (F). Some of the precipitation has been melted snow, rain and any other form of precipitation or moisture. The weather there is about like what you would get in North America.
Jerome Le Royer, Sieur de la Dauversiere , was recognised as a French tax collector, designed a company in Paris to design a colony in Montreal. Roman Catholic missionaries came to Montreal to take the Indians to try and make them into Christians. Paul de Chomedey, Sieur de Maisonneuve, they had made a fort that is now Place Royal and that’s in Old Montreal and made a settlement and called it Ville-Marie. Indians named the Iroquois Indians had decided to attack the colony, and they thought that it could stop all the fur trades that were be traded via the French had made and the fur was being traded via the Algonquins and the Hurons. The two Indians had become enemies with these Iroquois. Ville-Marie was then decided to become Montreal today, and that was decided in the early 1700’s. The population grew to become 3,500 in the 1700’s. Over the years the population has grown from this number and more improvements have been done to Montreal.
