Boston is the majority populous city in Massachusetts and considered the unofficial economic and cultural center of the new England region. Anything that really happens in the New England area usually goes through the city of Boston first. Boston has a population of around 600,000 people and in the hugeer Boston area you are looking at a population in an excess of around 5.8 million people. Boston people many times are referred to as Bostonians. In 1630 Puritan colonists from England founded the city on the Shawmut Peninsula. During the late eighteenth century the American Revolution including the Boston Massacre and Boston tea Party took place. Other battles happen such as the Battle of Bunker Hill and the Siege of Boston. Boston also had some firsts in the country such as the first public school and the first college. Many people don't realize this, but Boston is also home to the first subway system in America. Boston was incorporated in 1822.

Climate in Boston is cold winters and hot and humid summers with usually July being the hottest month and January being the coldest month for Bostonians. Boston has many appealing things that tourists just love. One of the first things you will notice is the downtown that has a old style look with some new style innovations that don't detract from the charm and beauty of downtown. Cafes and min markets are another huge tourists attractions that seem to brings visitors back year after year. Crime use to be a big problem in Boston and this has been getting better each year thus tourism is making a big comeback in the city. Probably though the biggest thing that draws more people into the Boston area are their sports teams. For the longest time professional sports teams struggled in Boston. This has changed and it's one of the hottest tickets in town and even tourists come to Boston to watch the sports teams.

Culture and architecture is also extremely popular among people who visit Boston. The older buildings have an architecture that you don't see much anymore and people come to see it. With the Boston Pops and many museums available Boston has been getting a reputation as the jewel of the North east. You can see why as there is so much to do in Boston and that people love all the things you can do in this beautiful city. I look for it to just get better as time goes via.
