Getting around New York City can be a daunting task if you don't know how to go about it. New York City has three major airports so arriving isn't much of a problem. Their are many different ways to see New York City and each one can be used if it's the type of transportation your looking for. New York City has ferries, taxis, public transportation; rental cars just to name a few. To start out until you grasp the feel of the city and know where you are going public transportation or Taxi is probably best. Once you know your way around than a rental car maybe the way you will want to go. You can also use a bike in certain areas and if you want to see New York City via foot that is another possibility. The best advice though is take public transportation and once you learn the city opted for the rental car and you should be fine. New York City is big and getting lost is just part of the learning curve in New York City.
